Short answer
What does a forecast Checks tab balance sheet mismatch mean?
It means the forecast is not ready for Excel export or outside review. The mismatch is a warning to inspect the source opening balance sheet, account signs, retained earnings, timing, and journal balance.

Common Causes
- Opening balance sheet: opening assets, liabilities, and equity may not tie before forecast transactions begin.
- Debit and credit signs: cash, receivables, debt, or equity may be imported with the opposite sign convention.
- Retained earnings: opening retained earnings may include current-period profit twice or with the wrong sign.
- Timing: AR collection, AP payment, tax payment, or debt repayment may be recognized in the wrong month.
- Journal balance: a forecast rule can create an unbalanced debit and credit pattern.
